Call for committee members
May is Asian/Pacific Islander Month. Master Sgt. Ronald Martinez is currently enlisting the support of anyone who would like to be a committee member to help coordinate the month’s celebrations. Thomas W. Anthony Chapter meeting
A meeting of the Thomas W. Anthony Chapter of the Air Force Association (AFA) is slated to take place April 14 at the Quality Inn on Allentown Road in Camp Springs, Md. at 9 a.m. This meeting will be followed by a Maryland State AFA meeting at 10:30 a.m. There will be free breakfast at the beginning of the meetings and all are welcome to attend. Guest speakers in attendance include Col. Ken Rizer, 11th Wing/Joint Base Andrews commander. During the meetings, the Maryland State AFA Teacher of the Year will be selected.
Spring Fling
Parent's Day Out "Spring Fling" will be held 14 April from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Joint Base Andrews.
Children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old are welcome at JP Hoyer. The cost is $4 per child/per hour and they must be registered in advance through the Child Care Central Registration Office. For more information, call 240-857-3197.
Children ages 5-12 are invited to the Youth Center. The cost is $15 for members; $20 for non-members. An additional cost will be applied on the day of the event. Please register by calling 301-981-5636.
2012 Brandywine Archery Hunting Program
The 2012 Brandywine Archery ‘Spring Turkey’ hunting program are open to all active-duty members, dependents, retirees and DOD employees. All participants must pass a proficiency test to take part in the event. Testing and registration is scheduled for April 7 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Brandywine site on Air Force road in Brandywine, Md. At the time of testing, participants must provide their identification card and a valid Maryland hunting license. This year’s fee will be $20 for active duty and $25 for all others.
